AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges.
Specialist SAs play a critical role in capturing customer feedback, advocating for roadmap enhancements, and anticipating customer requirements. As domain experts, SSAs also participate in field engagement and enablement, producing content such as whitepapers, blogs, and workshops for customers, partners, and the AWS Technical Field.
AI/ML/GenAI Specialist Solutions Architects combine technical skills in AI/ML/GenAI business acumen, and technical sales skills. They are focused on supporting customers throughout the engagement lifecycle and work closely with the teams that support implementation including AWS Professional Services and Partners. Key job responsibilities
The Principal SSA leads large-scale, strategic AI/ML initiatives spanning multiple business units and areas with complete independence. They influence AI/ML strategy at the highest organizational levels, engaging with C-suite executives where their technical guidance directly influences perception of Amazon's AI capabilities, while providing solutions to significantly complex challenges.
In this role you will:
- Leverage deep understanding of EMEA AI/ML requirements to influence AWS service teams and product roadmaps.
- Establish gold standard deliverables that provide reference thought leadership for team members to accelerate growth.
- Scale technical community mechanisms across the region with cross-organizational interlock (including product teams).
- Establish standardized escalation processes that reduce resolution time for complex technical challenges including service/partnership rollout.
- Represent AWS through high-profile speaking engagements at major conferences, publish thought leadership content, and co-create partner solutions with key system integrators.
- Serve as critical escalation point for high-profile strategic accounts where senior-level coordination affects multiple business units.
About the team
SSAs are part of the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) which builds and executes go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses.
Qualifications
- 12+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications
- 7+ years management of technical, customer facing resources
- 7+ years of design/implementation of production AI/ML/GenAI/Agentic systems including integration of LLMs/multi-modal FMs in large scale systems, fine-tuning LLMs, deployment and distributed inference of LLMs, RAG, FM evaluation, Vector DBs, Agentic workflows, prompt/context engineering, and MLOps.
- Experience in C-level engagement
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field
- 12+ years of Solutions Architecture (or equivalent) experience with deep expertise in machine learning, generative AI, MLOps, data for AI, and responsible AI principles,
- Proven ability to influence at C-level and anticipate future state of technology and service gaps
- Track record of driving transformational AI initiatives with programmatic scale mechanisms across multiple industries and geographies, and strong understanding of EMEA regulatory landscape and cloud-native architectures at scale.
- Able to effectively communicate across an increasing diversity of audiences internally and externally
