Are you looking for an exciting PhD opportunity at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Information Systems? Do you wonder how (Generative) Artificial Intelligence can shape innovative organizational business, work, and innovation processes to create value in organizations? Are you interested in the design of Agentic AI systems and how humans can collaborate with them? If yes, then you would be a perfect fit for our team. In our research projects, we focus on developing and evaluating theories, methods, and solutions for effectively integrating (Generative) Artificial Intelligence in organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Systematic development of theories, methods, and solutions to support business, work, and innovation processes using Artificial Intelligence (especially Generative and Agentic AI).
  • Developing and (experimental) evaluation of prototypes.
  • Publishing papers at leading international conferences and journals.
  • Different avenues for developing your PhD thesis given your skills and interests.
  • Independent project work in a research area of high theoretical and practical relevance.
  • A high degree of freedom and intensive collaboration in the development of your research topic.
  • Integration into a young, dynamic, and interdisciplinary research group.
  • Collaboration with renowned research institutions, startups, and corporations.
  • Supporting executive education formats by for example coordinating setup, answering inquiries, supervising projects, and assisting in teaching formats.
  • Timely planned doctoral studies (approx. 3.5 years) with intensive supervision and a private-sector salary.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree with a grade point average of at least 5.0 in (Business) Informatics, (Business) Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a similar field (equivalent to 2.0 in Germany and Austria).
  • Strong knowledge in qualitative or quantitative empirical research methods (e.g., case studies, surveys, or experiments).
  • Experience in using Python for data analytics, machine learning, natural language processing, or generative AI.
  • A motivated, responsible, and service-oriented personality with dedication, integrity, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
  • Initial practical professional experiences.
