Senior Data Scientist

Description

Zühlke is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop Machine Learning solutions for various industries. The role involves addressing problems in fields like patient health and environmental standards through AI applications.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility and technical leadership in customer projects.
• Inspire customers with thought leadership in data science.
• Lead the development of machine learning solutions: data preparation, modelling, method selection, evaluation, implementation.
• Evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of machine learning solutions.
• Operationalize successful prototypes in collaboration with data platform architects and data engineers.
• Bring machine learning expertise to the Zühlke team and support juniors.
• Contribute to the development of the AI & Data Practice and support the acquisition of customer projects.
• Represent Zühlke AI & Data through technical presentations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (ETH, Uni) in computer science or a comparable education (e.g. mathematics). A PhD in a machine learning related field is a plus
• At least four years of professional/research experience in the field of machine learning after graduation
• Experience implementing machine learning solutions in industry. Experience in the professional services business is an advantage
• Solid and broad knowledge in machine learning, in-depth knowledge in an application domain (e.g. large language models, computer vision) and good knowledge in statistics
• Proficient in the Python machine learning stack (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch), have experience in software development and are familiar with the concepts of database systems (relational/NoSQL)
• Familiar with one of the major cloud providers (Azure/AWS/GCP) and understand the concepts of training and operationalizing machine learning solutions (e.g. MLOps, containerization, experiment tracking, data versioning)
• Open and communicative personality, comfortable in interdisciplinary teams and can work in a customer-oriented way.
• German language skills are required. Very good English skills complete your profile
